About the store

US online store for women's tango shoes, founded in 2006 by Julia Schiptsova and based in the Washington, DC area; it sells SUR (Italy) and Comme il Faut (Argentina) tango shoes. According to its About page, JuliaBella started as a distributor of Comme il Faut shoes in the US, is based in Washington, DC, has a location in San Francisco, and offers Comme il Faut and SUR shoes at tango festivals across North America. At the time of research the online shop listed mainly SUR Tango Shoes and Comme il Faut models (including an “Exclusive” Comme il Faut line the store says was designed for JuliaBella), plus DNI sneakers and two tuxedo skirts by Tangoleva. Many models state the heel height (about 6–9 cm, plus 12 cm platform models) and the fit (narrow, regular or wide).

Sizes

The small sizes are included, 35, 36. Large sizes: up to 42.

• The shoes use Italian (EU) sizing, with US equivalents shown (e.g. 35 = US 5, 36 = US 6).
• The store size guide says Comme il Faut makes full sizes from 34 to 41, and that SUR shoes run small (go half a size up if between sizes).
• The shop menu lists SUR size categories from 33 to 42; DNI sneakers are listed in sizes 37–42. Heeled models in stock at the time of research went up to 41.
• The store has a shoe size and heel measurement guide.

• Shipping is calculated at checkout (USPS). Example quotes for one pair at the time of research: within the US about $9 (USPS Ground Advantage); Canada about $37, Germany about $45, UK about $46, Australia $62 (USPS First Class Package International, 7–21 days).
• Returns of online purchases: within 30 days, unworn, in original packaging and with the sole protector film intact; 5% restocking fee; shipping costs are not refunded. Sale items are final sale but can be exchanged within 30 days.
• In-person sales are final (exchanges only, within 30 days).
